Control of loop length in the production of plain knit fabrics

Abstract

The important results obtained by previous workers , who were interested in the construction of plain knitted fabrics, have been critically analysed. Several fabric samples with different loop lengths were examined so as to obtain further information and some relationships have been observed from the experimental values. An attempt to disaprove some misconceptions , about w/cm and g/m of plain knit fabrics has been made. Finally a suggestion , helpful for further development of the project , has been brought forward.
