dc.description.abstract In recent years there has been an increasing interest in Nano Dielectrics. By incorporating a fewpercent of nanoparticles into a host resin, it is possible to achieve drastically improved electrical and mechanical properties. This paper studies the use of Nano technology to improve the electrical properties of epoxy resin composites used as high voltage insulating material. Different combinations of epoxy resin Nanocomposites will be fabricated in order to test the electrical characteristics of the new material to test the suitability of using the fabricated materials in high voltage insulations. Base resin material is ‘CYCLOALIPHATIC' resins (Epon828). Hardener for the epoxy resin is ‘Curing Agent 3388'. Main Nano particle that are used for fabricating are ‘Silicon Dioxide (Si02)\ Material fabrication is done by concentrating Nano particles to epoxy resin such that w/w concentration of the Nano particles in the medium. After fabricating the Nanocomposite, those samples test for measuring dielectric strength according to ASTM D-149 standards that is related to dielectric breakdown standards for solid. en_US
