In a regular vehicle maintenance and repair workshop, service details, employee details and invoice details
are manually maintained in paper and hence prone to human errors. Farther, the customer is required to
provide vehicle details and customer information each time a customer comes to get a service from the
workshop. During the time the vehicle is in the workshop, lot of details need to he collected from the labourers
and supervisors, which are then manually entered in to systems. Accurate accounting and billing, the
assessment of the actual labour cost, assurance of timely attendance to the issues and monitoring the progress
are issues. The objective of this eMIS project is to automate such tasks. eMIS minimizes the manual entries
thereby minimizing the human errors, ultimately leading to customer satisfaction. The automation of the eMIS
system is achieved using RFID technology based solutions. eMIS provides subsystems to manage the proper
use of spare parts, employees of the workshop and their attendance to tasks, and remote monitoring by the
management as well as customers. eMIS system is currently being tested in a real environment. |
